The caveats
ShopExperts. The side that pays is the expert, not you. A verified listing is free. Verified Pro, at $799 a year or $249 a quarter, buys Official Partner status, lead capture and listing analytics. So a hand-picked match is a ranking somebody can pay for, not a neutral one. The vetting figures, 205 experts and the top 3% of applicants, are self-reported and not checkable from outside.
Storetasker. What Storetasker takes is not published anywhere on the site. Pricing is described as coming directly from the experts you hire. That is the freelancer's number, and it says nothing about the platform's margin on top of it. The vetting figures, 15,000 reviewed and under 5% admitted, are self-reported and not checkable. Fine on a fixed-scope project, where the quote does not change. Worth asking about before a long retainer.
