App Store Research
A paid panel of vetted Shopify merchants you can book calls with.
Free account, from $150 per research callfree plansame owner as ShopExperts
3,000+ Shopify brands in the network, $1M+ paid to participants, 6,000+ product conversations. You define the merchant profile by role, industry, revenue range and Shopify plan; vetted operators apply and you approve who you talk to. Scheduling, screening and incentives are handled. Used for roadmap validation, switching analysis, pricing and positioning. Transcripts and tagged insights are a paid add-on. Named customers include Loox, Recart, Tresl, ClickPost and MobiLoud. Pricing is published as worked examples with the incentive and the recruitment fee itemised separately: a product validation interview is $100 incentive plus $65 recruitment, $165 in total; a Shopify Plus interview is $200 plus $65, $265; a high-intent sales conversation is $300 plus $250, $550. Research calls start at $150 and sales calls at $500. You are billed only on a completed call, with nothing charged for a cancellation or a no-show. The same company runs ShopExperts and publishes ShopOps Weekly, a free weekly digest of Shopify platform changes written for merchants.
Watch for. It sells sales calls alongside research calls, and a merchant paid $300 to take one is not the same signal as inbound interest. Those conversations are research with a discount applied, not pipeline. The incentive is also the part that moves: it is adjusted for participant quality, urgency and targeting, with $85 the floor on a research interview, so the worked examples are the shape of a bill rather than a quote for yours. And a paid panel is self-selecting in the way every paid panel is. You are hearing from operators who will take $100 to talk for half an hour, which is a different population from the merchants who ignore the invitation.
