Every App Store ASO and rank-tracking tool in the directory, judged on stated criteria. It says who owns each one and which figures are the vendor's own.

A vendor's comparison page is written by one of the products in it. AppJubilee publishes one that compares itself with its rivals, and its conclusion is AppJubilee. That is ordinary marketing. It also means a developer choosing a rank tracker reads a dozen pages. Each one reaches the same verdict about a different product.

This one is written by someone who sells none of these tools. The directory takes no affiliate commission and no paid placement, so no link below earns anything. Each tool already has a listing here with its full pricing and caveats. This post links to those instead of copying them. It adds the one thing a listing cannot do: put all fifteen side by side.

None of these tools was run for this post. What each one does here is what its vendor's own site says it does, read directly. Who owns each one was checked against the companies' own pages and terms. Some figures are the vendor's own, such as how many apps or keywords it tracks. They are marked † because nobody outside the company can check them.

## How they were judged

The criteria come first, so you can question the verdicts instead of trusting them:

- What it measures. Keyword positions, category positions, or the money behind them. These are different jobs. Much of the confusion in this category comes from comparing a tool that does one with a tool that does another.
- What you have to hand over. Some need nothing. Some need a Partner API key, which carries your full revenue history, or a GA4 export to BigQuery. The more a tool needs, the more it matters who runs it.
- Who owns it, and whether they compete with you. Several are built by companies that sell Shopify apps of their own. That is not a flaw in the product. It is a fact about who could see your keyword list.
- What it costs past the free tier, as published on the vendor's own pricing page.
- Whether it will be here next year.

Not judged: accuracy. Each tool collects ranking data from the public App Store on its own schedule. This post did not test which one is more accurate, so it does not rank them on that.

## Who owns what

The rest of this post depends on this section. A comparison of tools that share owners is not fifteen independent opinions.

- AppJubilee (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appjubilee) and StoreCensus (https://watchfor.tools/tools/storecensus) are the same company. AppJubilee's pages name Dark Ecommerce Labs, LLC as their author. StoreCensus's About page names the same company. StoreCensus also links to AppJubilee's keyword tool from its own pages. A comparison page from one and praise from the other come from one vendor, not two.
- AppstorePulse (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appstorepulse) and WideBundle are run by the same company. The terms of use on both sites name The Wide Company. WideBundle is a bundle app. So a team selling bundles would track its keywords in a dashboard run by a competitor in the same listings.
- Rankbase (https://watchfor.tools/tools/rankbase) started as Craftshift's internal tracker, and Craftshift sells product image and variant apps.
- LetsMetrix (https://watchfor.tools/tools/letsmetrix) is owned by OmegaTheme, which runs a large portfolio of Shopify apps.
- Becketto Rank Tracker (https://watchfor.tools/tools/becketto) is one developer's free side project, and the same developer publishes an affiliate app.
- Ranksy (https://watchfor.tools/tools/ranksy) and SaaS Insights (https://watchfor.tools/tools/saasinsights) name no company and no person anywhere on their sites. AppVitals (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appvitals) names one person, a sole trader, and only on its legal notice. All three ask for a Partner API key.

None of this is a reason to avoid a tool. Before you connect anything, know who runs the dashboard that will hold your keyword strategy and your revenue.

"Not recorded" means the directory's listing does not name an owner, not that the company hides one.

## The verdicts, by job

### Checking a competitor, free, without an account

AppNavigator (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appnavigator) is the simplest place to start. It has ranking history, reviews, new launches and weekly movers across 26,416 apps†, and most of it is open without signing up. It is read-only, with no alerts and nothing about your own listing. Applora (https://watchfor.tools/tools/applora) is for questions about the whole store, not one app. It answers them over MCP as well as on the web, across 28.2K apps†. LetsMetrix (https://watchfor.tools/tools/letsmetrix) is best at sizing the category you compete in. Becketto Rank Tracker (https://watchfor.tools/tools/becketto) shows one keyword's history at a time.

Verdict: AppNavigator for one competitor, Applora for anything wider. Neither replaces tracking your own listing.

### Tracking your own keywords every day

Rankbase (https://watchfor.tools/tools/rankbase) is the most specific about what it measures. It tracks daily positions with up to a year of history. It also splits installs between organic search and paid ads, which is why it needs a GA4 connection and existing traffic. AppJubilee (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appjubilee) finds keywords for you instead of asking for a list, and needs no GA4. It tracks 1,200+ keywords a day† and is priced by the number of apps, from 1 to 30. SAMI (https://watchfor.tools/tools/tracksami) starts from what an app already ranks for, against a 27,000+ keyword† database. It compares up to 40 apps at once, but publishes no price. AppstorePulse (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appstorepulse) puts keywords, competitor change alerts and Partner MRR in one place. Its free tier is one app, three keywords and one competitor. Its search volume is a relative estimate, not a number. BestAppify (https://watchfor.tools/tools/bestappify) adds affiliate and influencer marketing to the rankings, and makes all of it available over MCP, across 10,800+ apps†.

Verdict: for apps with GA4 traffic, Rankbase. It is also the cheapest way to cover a portfolio, at $99 for 20 apps. For apps without GA4, or if you want the keywords found for you, AppJubilee, at $199 for 8 or $499 for 30. Read that with the ownership note above. No budget yet: AppstorePulse's free tier will show whether daily tracking changes anything you do. If you sell bundles, check who runs it first.

### Following a keyword through to revenue

Ranksy (https://watchfor.tools/tools/ranksy) is built around attribution. It joins BigQuery listing traffic to Partner API revenue, so a keyword can be traced to the customer it produced. Both tiers include it. There is no free plan. Data you have not been exporting to BigQuery is not backfilled. AppVitals (https://watchfor.tools/tools/appvitals) rebuilds MRR, churn and retention from the raw Partner event feed. It adds GA4 attribution, rank tracking and uptime checks, and its price depends on your MRR. SaaS Insights (https://watchfor.tools/tools/saasinsights) shows Partner revenue and keyword rankings side by side on one dashboard. It does not claim to join one to the other. Prys (https://watchfor.tools/tools/prys) also traces a keyword to revenue. It then sends those conversions to Google Ads and Shopify App Store ads and drafts listing copy with AI. Where ShopIDs are not in BigQuery, it says its matching is around 80% accurate†.

Verdict: Ranksy if attribution is the question and you already export to BigQuery. AppVitals if you want the revenue numbers rebuilt from source and are comfortable with one person holding them. SaaS Insights if you want both views without the join. All three ask for a Partner API key. Before you give one, reread who runs each tool.

### Everything in one place

Meridian (https://watchfor.tools/tools/meridian) puts App Store analytics into a platform that also hosts the app, runs billing, keeps a CRM and sends email. It offers a 14-day trial. Using it means moving your app's hosting too, so weigh that against how much it would hold.

### Free, but tied to Mantle

SASI (https://watchfor.tools/tools/sasi) is Mantle's App Store index. It is free and keeps listing history, with alerts on the apps and keywords you follow. Mantle's own billing platform is winding down. SASI's site says nothing about its future either way.

Verdict: fine as a free second view next to AppNavigator. Keep your own record of anything you would miss.

## What this cannot tell you

Prices and features are as each vendor published them, on the dates shown on each listing. AppJubilee's were read again on the day this was published. They change, and the listing is updated first. If something here is wrong, use the report link on that tool's listing. It goes to an editor. A correction to this post will say what changed and when.

No tool paid to be in this post or to be left out of it, and none of the links in it earn anything.

Corrected 23 October 2026: this post said Meridian was in closed early access. Its site now offers a 14-day trial, so its row and section were rewritten.

Corrected 23 October 2026: this post said SASI was winding down with Mantle. SASI's own site shows it running and recently updated, so the table row and its section were rewritten.

Marked † means the vendor's own claim, not checked independently.
